Do you remember when we ran into each other at the wedding and you were with your boyfriend of 9 years and I was trying very hard not to tell you that you looked gorgeous in that dress and I wondered why there wasn’t a ring on your finger so I asked if you wanted to go outside and catch up and when we walked outside and saw Brooklyn across the river you pulled a joint from your pocketbook and lit it and said shit how long has it been and I said I think 7 or 8 years and you said yeah it’s been awhile so what have you been up to and I showed you pictures of the beach which was a block away from my studio in Venice and I said you should come out to visit one weekend and you said yeah maybe and the next time we looked at our watches the wedding was almost over and I said would you wanna keep walking and you said definitely and we stole a bottle of whiskey from behind the bar and walked through New York on a summer night and I said this is really random but you know in movie trailers how there’s always a big song in the last minute of them where they show you the movie star cast or there’s a tagline or something and it gets you really excited to see the movie and it’s usually always something really nostalgic or sad like Fix You by Coldplay or Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol or Baba O'Riley by The Who and you said I do and I said sometimes If I have a good day or a night or a moment with someone I imagine what the movie trailer of it looks like in my head and which song plays in the background and you smiled and said you old sap so when I visit you in Venice you’re gonna play Wake Up by Arcade Fire and I said that’s a great idea but I was thinking Drops of Jupiter by Train.
